Mastodon is really a one-of-a-kind band, though I can't say it's exactly my cup of tea. This album is a concept album and continues with the elemental themes as with it's preceding albums. This time, it's meant to be the fifth element Ether. With such an intangible theme, Mastodon pulls off a lighter album, yet still managing to remain intense.
