With Be'lakor's "Stone's Reach" aside, "Altered State Of Conciousness" is the only melodic death release that has caught my attention this year (so far anyway). Don't expect it to be all hit material or super fast paced, but Fractal Gate's music is more Doom inspired and tend to be more Progressive, so we have complexity and oppressive feelings being evoked. That being said, "Altered State Of Conciousness" is still accessible and has plenty of catchy moments with a touch of Doom without being very slow.
