Talk about underrated bands, I only a few of you have heard of Hevein from Finland. Them being unsigned is an even bigger shame. So how about Apocalyptica? Probably a lot of nods here, but what's the connection? Well... Max Lilja was one of the cellist of Apocalyptica and left in 2002, so what was he up to? Ladies and gentlemen, Hevein! A metal band that actually incorporates the cello into their music properly rather than for the sake of it.

If you have already heard the full length "Souvenirs D'Un Autre Monde" and enjoyed it but thought that it's not "Black Metal" enough then this EP may be of interest.

It can get annoying when bands release something clearly just for the commercial value. "Hand Of Blood" is one of these examples when the contents of this EP is exactly the same as their self-titled EP released a year ago with only the addition of the track "4 Words (to choke upon)" which was previously the Japanese bonus track...

This album has been released for around 4 years now, so the current line up of the band is almost completely different. I don't know whether this band is still planning on any new works soon, but this being their debut and only studio record is sure a classy one. The song writing is truely memorable while the male/female duets simply tops things up.

If you like the slow and heavy sound of Stoner Metal and have not heard of Acid King or their album "III" before, this just may be your discovery. Being a female fronted band, it is still totally incomparable to bands such as Nightwish, Tristianna or After Forever as the music is completely different with slow tempo structures, low-tuned and distorted guitar riffs.

For those who love Rhapsody Of Fire would probably love Dreamquest. It's still sort of Power Metal and the music is much in the vein of Rhapsody imo, but this time instead of playing the guitar, Luca Turilli takes care of the keyboards, also we have a female vocalist under the name of "Mystique".
