After reading a lot of positive comments on this release, I decided to give this French metal band a go too. As a fairly regular listener of Progressive Metal, I was not disappointed and was even caught by surprise by many moments. The styles are really varied, with traditional sounds as well as space-like keyboard driven moments. Vocals can range from death to soothing female ones or weird robotic ones.
The whole album is very melodic, yet there is no chorus bits. According to the band, the CD has to listened from beginning till end and treat it as one whole song rather than divide them into individual tracks as it illustrates a whole story. Much care has been put into this album as it features a new language crafted by the composer himself, and even the track names are tailored to great detail (all of them are two words and the initials of them are in alphabetical order)!
There's also a bonus CD that includes their 1995 demo and some cool cover songs by Dream Theater, Cynic, Emperor and Loudblast.
