Deathstars play a brand of Gothic metal that is very distinctive with a lot of synthesisers as backup. Vocals are deep and dark with the occasional shriek, but also with catchy choruses. Personally, this is not my favourite deathstar album as I think they do a much better job in the later ones, but it's interesting to see how they already managed to define themselves in their first album.
