Waltari has been around for quite a while now, though still quite unkown really as they are perhaps a bit too original and the music they play is not as accessible as other bands. What I mean by original is that musically speaking they are more like a UFO. Crossing into territories of Prog, Thrash, Industrial and Avantgarde yet with a natural flow all the way, Waltari deserves more attention. Somehow, I think "Below Zero" is actually more accessible and catchy than "Release Date".

Whether you like (or even tried) the genre or not, I would highly recommend those who enjoy cool music that is different from the norm, but really accessible at the same time. In fact I would also recommend it to those who like Folk metal as quite a lot of the melodies here have a folkish tune in it. The lyrics are in Hungarian, but one can easily overlook that when you close your eyes and embrace the wave. Personal album of the year (so far anyway).

I occasionally like to listen to something more complex and "Prominence And Demise" is probably one of my top choices as it's not so easy, but at the same time has the ability to keep me interested throughout the album and being really heavy. Vocals are also really convincing.

I was looking for something different and unqiue and here we have Solstafir, a band from Iceland with an Icelandic cand name meaning "radiating sun beams". They really are different and nothing like what I have heard of before, but it's also not really my thing unfortunately though admittedly I do find parts of it very good.
